August 9th - Hello from Kenya!
We landed in Mombasa just after midnight this morning after travelling about 24 hours. Though we'd enjoyed much sleep while travelling, on each flight we'd been able to talk to others about what God is doing. Each encounter is a story by itself. Although we surprised Lampstone, our host, who hadn't expected us till 11am he joyfully welcomed us with overwhelming kindness, picking us up at the airport and giving us his own bed for sleep.
A few highlights from today:
Ministered to Kennedy at the airport. His back pain was healed. Rejoicing, he chose to follow Jesus.
Had three great meals! Including 'kales', a wheat-based dinner prepared by Lampstone.
Visited a few nearby villages, hearing from Lampstone, Samson, and James on the status of and vision for the local church outreach, then blessing and praying together for the land and God's people here.
Snorkeled in the Indian Ocean. One guide's shoulder was healed. Levi challenged another guide to pursue and get to know Jesus for himself.
Fun notes and praises:
Thanks Tamy for the devotional this morning! We receive and can read comments almost immediately after they are posted.
I got to drive on the busy main street in Mombasa! Yes... it's a bit of an adrenaline rush. :-)
They have grapefruit sized avacados here!
It's raining very hard right now here. :-)
God keeps working in so many ways! Thanks so much to everyone and your continued prayers! We're looking forward to many miraculous revival sessions for the next couple days!
