August 14th - A day of hope and God's visitation

Some highlights of the day:

Today's conference session started with praise and worship.

Levi then shared on Hope & Leadership.

We took a short break, talking and playing with people, and soon
jumped back in with more praise songs and dancing.

I spoke about living water and the showering of God's spirit.

Pastor Ben continued, preaching in the local tribal language which
people very quickly connected with.

God greatly encouraged us! Without even being prayed for, a 14
year-old girl who had not been able to make a sound, was given a voice
and began sounding out words!

Had a lunch break. We visited the man who had donated the church
property. The man is a farmer, he invited us over, and we had rice and
beans and goat stew.

More worship after lunch. :-)

Lampstone invited a few people up for prayer for healing.

An elderly man came up who had much pain in his knees, back, and
shoulder. His pain left and he was doing squats and bending his back
freely before he left!

A man who had an epileptic history said he felt something leave him.
Together we prayed for God to overflow through him and create a
renewed purpose in his life.

Levi shared on a culture of encouragement and prophetic ministry.

People paired up encouraging and building each other up, calling out
words God gave them for each other.

We blessed the local pastors, building them up with what God had shown
us about them.

We laid hands on everybody, renewing the call God has for them as His
people, and then closed the conference with exhortation.

The people blessed us with gifts and we said our goodbyes to the Katui church.

Returning home, we spent time with the youth leaders, building them up.

Talked with many new friends, and had a joy-filled kitchen party!

Shared over dinner, recalling what God has done here.

Washed and prepared to leave early the next morning for Nairobi.

God has overwhelmed us with his presence here, doing so much more than
we had expected!

More notes & praises:

God has greatly blessed this one-year old church. Their fervor and
eagerness to learn more and to serve amazes us.

I was amused when told that I had walked where no white man had ever walked.

Even in remote parts of Africa, cell phones at times interrupt church
services. :-)

All your prayers are immensely felt, and God's work here is
flourishing. Thank you all!

I AM THE GOD OF ALL TIME and all that is. Seek Me not only in morning quietnes but consistently throughout the day. Do not let unexpected problems distract you from My Presence. Instead, talk with Me about everything, and watch confidently to see what I will do.

Adversity need not interrupt your communion with Me. When things go "wrong" you tend to react as if you're being punished. Instead of this negative response, try to view difficulties as blessings in disguise. Make Me your Refuge by pouring out your heart to Me, trusting in Me at all times.

    Psalm 55:17
Evening, morning and noon. I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice

    Psalm 32:6
Therefore let all the faithful pray to you while you may be found; surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them

    Psalm 62:8
Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge
